Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical GIS Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will leverage Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to collect, analyze, and interpret spatial data, providing valuable insights that support decision-making across various projects. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance data visualization and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Management: Collect, maintain, and update spatial data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Spatial Analysis: Conduct spatial analyses using GIS software to identify trends, patterns, and relationships within data sets.
Mapping and Visualization: Create detailed maps and visual representations of data to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and training to team members on GIS tools and methodologies.
Project Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, urban planners, environmental scientists, and other stakeholders to support project objectives.
Report Preparation: Generate comprehensive reports summarizing analysis results, methodologies, and recommendations for stakeholders.
Software Proficiency: Utilize GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and other relevant tools to conduct analyses and produce outputs.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Proven experience with GIS software and tools, particularly ArcGIS or QGIS.
Strong analytical skills with an understanding of spatial data analysis techniques.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information clearly.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Knowledge of database management systems and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python) is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a related field.
Experience in remote sensing or photogrammetry.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Working Conditions:

May require occasional overtime or weekend work depending on project deadlines.
